Lakeville (pron.: /Ëleɪkvɪl/) is a suburb 23 miles (37 km) south of downtown Minneapolis in Dakota County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. On the south metro fringe, Lakeville is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.[6] The U.S. Census Bureau recorded the city's population at 55,954 people in 2010.[7][8]
