San Marcos is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, and is the seat of Hays County. The city is located on the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio.[4] The population was 44,894 in 2010.[5] San Marcos is part of the Greater Austin metropolitan area, with an estimated population of 1.8 million in 2012.[6]
