The Way, Truth, Life and I started by jotting down thoughts, life as it was happening, and things I would not want others to know. A new believer, new writer, and painting a picture that was more understandable for a reader to feel like they are going through similar situations with. As one poem led to the next, the story I had to tell, was and is difficult since its my life dealing with all the emotions from anger to making decisions a person normally would not make. Writing my first poems, my mind did not know very much about the Word. Going with a lot of basic fundamental scriptures a person should understand about salvation. Being a newborn building a core of beliefs that would shape my writings today. Researching, practicing, and instilling what I felt my life needed during this time was hard. I could throw it all away or live up to my responsibilities, this is where I refused to call myself a man; instead I had to do what a man does. Since this was the beginning of my life I dubbed the first part of the book newborn. These writings helped alleviate my mind as well as my heart which also lead to the brokenness of my spirit. Sitting in the back pews was more of a waiting period in the wilderness. I hardly spoke, gaining a more hands on approach; I would practice at home what would work for me and use it. One day I was reading and researching in the book of Job. I read that clapping your hands would hiss the enemy out of his place. So, I started out in a little prayer, next going to a few verses in praise. Then I read the scripture and started clapping telling the enemy to move out of his place. This shook the foundation of physical and spiritual. As I moved into the spiritual realm, I seen the lights flicker and turn off for a moment returning on. I grabbed the door opening it to the outside patio. When I looked up I saw a rider on horseback bearing a sickle. Coming out of the spirit, trying to settle down with some prayer my mom enters the room. She is yelling out a lot of slanderous remarks regarding my life and how I was using my beliefs to think I was better than anyone else. Continuing on with the church I was going to was no good, etc. Now that I look back, some spirit manifested itself in her to speak those things because this all happened so fast. That instance was definitely a moment changer, I stepped into a new boundary, and there was no stopping now I was all in. As I continued to write, learn, and understand more in Word my style of writing began to change fueling some anger I held in parts. This part of my life and book is known by the title, “I Don’t Have to Be Hard No More”. Dealing with this anger I had to have knowledge and understanding of where it would take me especially how I would deal with it. Is it love questioned everything I thought it was to be changing my thoughts on how I felt about it. This was a major contributor to what led me to have a baby out of wedlock. I was thinking what I wanted to think; at that age I didn’t know what would be best for my life. Making decisions that I should not have made, I was not listening, now I have to deal with those decisions whether good or bad. Having responsibilities according to those actions drove me to another part of my life that I can never give back. I do not have to be part of it directly because I know where it can lead. Since the mind frame is not the same, there is no need to converse about being parents, when there is no friendship/comforter there. Changing my views from being in the streets, life as a dope head is all that it was. Sooner or later it is going to amount to nothing. I had to change, this is when I wrote, “I don't have to be hard no more”. It was a hard life, heart, and attitude that I did not have to be. I chose to be that way. This change was initiated by the Holy Spirit. Putting on the armor of god, studying how to use it effectively is when the spiritual warfare began to pick up. Twtlni is on Facebook and twitter.
