When the local tramp disappears police efforts to find him are undermined by the well meaning assistance of the talented and eccentric Bagthorpe family each of whom follows their own line of enquiry. Suggested primary, intermediate. Chaos reigns in the Bagthorpe household. The family members are eccentric, except for young Jack and Mrs. Bagthorpe. Christian Rodska's extensive theatrical background serves him well in the delivery of this fully voiced reading. His timing is excellent, so the overall pace is good. Mr. Bagthorpe's abrasive voice is perfect as is that of Mrs. Fosdyke, the daily help. The other characters are also aptly portrayed, including cross-gender depictions. The listener is absorbed into the life of the Bagthorpes. V.E.R. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
