Maybe you're the type that's been been playing the game on your computer from the early days when it was still in Beta and every so often a new update would change things up in the best of ways and add a bunch of new stuff. You might also belong to the second group of Minecraft players that joined the party later and haven't really experienced too many updates yet so all of this might be new to you. You might even be sitting anywhere in between, maybe there's been a couple updates since you've been playing for this short while but nothing really changed all that much when it went down. Despite what kind of Minecraft player you might be, the chances are pretty good that if you're playing Minecraft on pc right now, or even on Xbox One, you've played through the 1.9 update or at the very least experienced what it's brought to the table. It was kind of a big update, you can tell because for the most part that's what this book is going to be about. It was called "The Combat Update" because of how many changes they made to how you go about fighting monsters, bosses, and even other players. There's a little bit of functionality that no longer exists or at the very least has been changed into something different. There's quite a bit of new content added as well that you'll be able to find and use during your adventures out in the infinitely expanding Minecraft world you're playing in. Now, we aren't going to blame you if all of this new stuff out in the Minecraft world sounds like discoveries you'd like to make on your own.
