The extracts from her journal are a record of the heroism, manly fortitude, and manifold sufferings of the noble men who warred so long and at such great sacrifice. She gives details of the humane treatment wounded and sick prisoners received at our hands, going far to show the falsity of much that was said to the contrary on the other side.
