DANNY SHEAFFER was born in Jacksonville, Florida—raised in New Cumberland, PA—attended Red Land High School and graduated in 1979, where he went on to Clemson University. He was the first round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 1981. He continued to play professionally for 18 years, for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago Cubs. These years included 7 MLB seasons for the Red Sox, Indians, Rockies and Cardinals. Danny also managed every level of minor league baseball over a 22 year period, including Catching Coordinator for the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals. He married LaDonna Hull in 1987, had three children: Daniel, David, and Lorianna. They now reside in Mount Airy, North Carolina and operate Firm Foundation Baseball: a baseball training and mentoring program for young men.
