Japan’s extensive latitudinal span, stretching over 3,000 kilometres, creates a mosaic of habitats that serve as a haven for over 600 bird species. Join me on a journey to explore the beauty of 100 of the most common (and some not so common) bird species found in Japan. This coffee table book is more than a collection of photographs; it is a celebration of the diversity and beauty of nature. In addition to the photographs, I have added some facts and comments which you will hopefully find interesting. Most pictures were taken around Tokyo. Other areas include Shizuoka, Nagano,Kanagawa, Hyōgo and Tochigi prefectures, as well as the islands of Hokkaido and Kyushu. Apart from a few (where indicated) all photographs are my own. All birds are named in English and Japanese, but the rest of the text is in English.
