During these years, the technically tedious profession of an IT trainer also encompassed wandering through airports, visiting large corporate headquarters, sitting in dust-free server rooms, meeting unique people, walking with alligators, avoiding rattlesnakes, and inhaling the toxic fumes of chicken farms. (Say what?) There was nothing boring or predictable about my adventures on the road. But several months into my adventures, I decided tears were not an option. Instead, I chose laughter. Focusing on the positive, chanting “I will survive” to myself, and telling an occasional joke were the things that kept me going. Some little girls stroll around in their pink sparkly dresses with black patent-leather shoes, dreaming of Prince Charming taking them away on his white horse. Then there were the little girls like me, sporting holes in their dirty jeans while preparing for the next adventure. I spent my childhood diving into the pool, rolling in the mud, playing little league on the boys’ team, flunking piano lessons, and beating up the bullies in the neighborhood. This is the story of a tomboy who’s all grown up but who’s still stumbling into life's muddy ponds. This book is a collection of 10 years’ worth of humorous adventures across North America, during which time the tears in my eyes were from laughter and my princess tiara was hopelessly tangled in my frizzy hair.
