In the Midst of the Storms is a faith filled story of two people struggling with brain injuries. Their life experiences would lead them to work in similar ministries to bring hope to others and reinforce each other spiritual faith. They endured the stress from brain injury and recovery, the stigmas that accompany the conditions of stroke and epilepsy, along with the traumas of the past and present. It is the story about having faith in God during dire times. Jon Sadler is a retired engineer, with a master's degree in Pastoral Counseling. He has lived with epilepsy since early childhood that required brain surgery to treat epilepsy (2006). He has worked with the epilepsy foundation and was an advocate for epilepsy research. He was a mentor and in 2015 became a counselor for people struggling with epilepsy. He has written the book Weathering the Storms to inspire those struggling with seizures and brain injury. He has been running for many years and in 2021 was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. With radiation and Immunotherapy his cancer has been in remission. In 2023, he was running and suffered seizures triggered by the Melanoma and needed surgery for two of the tumors in his brain. His speech has been effected and over the past year it has improved dramatically.
