After losing my daughter Trinity, mother Tina, and stepfather Jay to a murder in 2014 my heart became as hard as the hardest stone. Like many my heart had begun to harden at an early age when unforgiveness became my automatic response when I experienced hurt. I thought holding unforgiveness gave me power over my pain and when in reality it was making me a prisoner to it. The prisoners’ struggle of wanting to be free all while wanting revenge caused my heart to be as hard as a diamond but as dark and empty as a black whole. The problem with this is it’s hard for a dead stone to produce life and deep down in the deepest crevasse of my heart under the denial, despair, doubt and pain I wanted to live. Blinded by pain, I set out on a journey for healing. Walking in the ways that seemed right, I ended up on many dead-end roads. Only to find what I was longing for, in a gift from The God I did not want. This is my testimony of how God replaced my heart of stone with a heart of flesh through the gift of forgiveness.
