The Book of Belial, also known by its original title, Consolatio peccatorum (“Consolation of Sinners”), is a 14th-century text that describes a trial against Jesus, brought forward by Belial, the administrator of Hell and one of the most depraved demons. Shortly after its publication, the book was banned by the Catholic Church and included in the Librorum Prohibitorum , a list of heretical works. This is the first and only English translation of the full text.
