Description
1901: Mining engineer Alva Udell vows to honor his late grandfather by retracing an 1858 wagon-train journal-this time by rail-toward the Southwest, Zuni pueblos, and rumored gold. In St. Louis he teams up with Yale librarian Bob and fugitive cowboy Sam, while three enigmatic “golden maidens” draw them into danger.
