Volume 13 is the second in a three-part series on the Douglas DC-8 in the Americas. The iconic DC-8 was the first commercial jet transport manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company, and this book examines two additional North American countries that operated the DC-8: Canada and Mexico. The Canadian section comprises the two leading international Canadian carriers at the time, Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA) (later known as Air Canada) and Canadian Pacific Airlines (rebranded as CP Air). Twelve other Canadian airlines are included. The passenger capacity of the stretched DC-8s was well-suited to charter airlines that flew them on transatlantic routes. Carriers such as Nationair, Nordair, Quebecair, and Worldways are described in detail, along with many images. Smaller airlines like Advance Air Charter, Holidair, and Points of Call are also included. The DC-8 played a significant role as a dedicated cargo aircraft in a passenger-cargo combination.
