The Memoirist is an online publication dedicated to publishing memoirs and personal essays from writers all over the world. Founded in 2021 on Medium, it expanded to a second location on Substack in 2025. With the vision of expanding The Memoirist beyond the online platform, The Memoirist Quarterly literary journal was developed to showcase stories in a slick, sophisticated print format. Within these pages, we’ve curated some of the best stories that have appeared on our Substack site over the past year. We are also proud to showcase artwork and personal photography in this journal.
